Hominization

The road to hell is paved quite well, With intentions centered round love. The privileged blames of hindsights gains Walls that protect us contain us. Took the break with far more grace, But maybe I should have been there? I barely knew what brothers do Walls that protect us contain us Though he's gone, I hear his songs, In echoes still guiding my hands I dodged his shot but he did not Walls that protect us contain us The light's scapegoat the night Searching for fire untamed Wherever you go, there you are Walls that protect us restrict us. Paint that dried, made alive with Every beat of my heart Gods I ate, tombs unmade monad infinity null Thoughts o-ver 'things, Manifest dreams Fourier transform complete Body dies, spirit flies The Universal One

Tied to the moon Sewn right into your soul There's swagger in your step and there's garlic on your breath when these Punishing thoughts start to bloom Tied to the moon Bound by infinity (Go with) Freedom love and trust Cuz all the rest's a bust And we're up to our necks with this gloom A swivel serpentine, a bit of Bitterness divine, it's no co- incidence her name was night time. Alone the devil rides and theres a Broom between her thighs you couldn't Comprehend her cries So dont try Aye I I, Aye ya yao, How can man be so blind he cant see? The nature he abhors is the God he adores A skillful ignorance... Lunar pull shifts bodies of water Same way they sway babies in mothers. Lunar pull shifts THE ocean tides and Salt wa-ter makes up YOUR insides How can man be so blind he cant see? The tighter that he grips, the slipperier she gets. Hubris uses cues from the pubis Parched for partnership, because Like-it-or-not-we-are Tied to the moon Branded into your brain The silver rock smiles, Despite our lengthy trials (Let) Justice's scales level soon Tied to the moon Wang-Jangled into your heart You tried to tamp it down (and now its) Coming back around, to Shed all the shackles you grew Ya got needs, desires, like everyone else Ya gotta feed the fire or become overwhelmed.

The man I used to be Clouded by certainty The mind does a funny thing When you justify what you need Back home I could have slept forever Worn by the path of retreat Choking down challenge and change Don't lose the heart that gave you that smile Acceptance is the new denial Like this its gonna be forever You're waking up Strengthened like stems in the wind we sway, bend dont break with the Riot outside. Simple like time before sin was laid, now we're crawling out of the fire alive.

about

This album was written while I was living in Oakland, Ca. I was far away from home in pursuit of knowledge, and music was one of the only things that kept me grounded.

This album represents not just my physical departure from the place I grew up, but my artistic departure from the jagged-edged, aggressive music of my youth. This album is hard rock, at timers, but much more dynamic than previous efforts. I feel like I've molted my musical safety nets. I am allowing myself to evolve. I still have plenty of jagged music inside me, but I'll be incorporating the whole spectrum, even more than before, from now on.

That's how I listen to music; that's how life is.

Through the writing of this album and the avalanche of other songs that will inevitably become the following album, I realized how critical music is to my core, and how much it's not just me making music, it's me making music with my friends that's important.

This album is dedicated to my musical friends.
